The same folks who have been calling for NATIONAL  licensing, NATIONAL  Gun Bans, and NATIONAL registries and now screaming about STATES rights in the face of NATIONAL  concealed carry.  Nothing lends credibility to your position like turning 180 degrees to keep the party line going, no matter how moronic it makes you look.

While it is somewhat old news, I recently had occasion to re-read “Rightwing Extremism:Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization  and Recruitment”  This was Homeland Security’s memo to police departments to warm them to the Idea that anyone who recently served their county, stands up for constitutional rights, especially the second amendment ,people who stockpile guns an ammunition ahead of a ban, and basically believes in the country but is not happy about the direction it is headed in needs to be watched and might be a domestic terrorist.  Since I wa reading it as a PDF, I did a word search.   The world’s “Islam” “Muslim” and “Jihad”  were not written anywhere in the document

“veteran” appeared 8 Times. “gun” in the context of laws, bans, or control, appeared 7 times”rightwing” appeared 51 times, “terrorist” 14 times and “extremist”61 times, and “Firearm” appeared 7 times.

How long do you think it will be before I am called an “insurgent”?

The THEORY goes like this;  Gun makers etch a serial number on the the head of the firing pin on a semi automatic pistol, thus it would leave the number imprinted on the back of the casing.  Police arrive that the crime scene,pick up the spent casing, read the number off the back, look up the number, drive to the criminals house and arrest him.  Case solved faster than last weeks episode of  C.S.I.

The REALITY ( there’s that word moonbats hate so much) is much different.

1.  The technology does not actually exist yet. While state governments in places like CA and NY want to make it the law of the land, gun manufactures are unable to make guns that meet the requirements.  They would therefore be unable to sell guns in the states with this legislation.  Well, would you look at that?  It would become a back door gun ban!  How convenient for the gun banners!  After Microstamping fails to stop crime with semi-auto pistols, what is to stop them from including rifles and shotguns?  Why, nothing! In one fell swoop the antis could get rid of everything but revolvers! As long as we are legislating non-existent technology, what not pass a law that says car dealers can only sell cars that get 200mpg or better?

2. lets say for the sake of argument that the technology exist and actually was viable.  If I bought a microstamped gun, how would the police know to arrest me if committed a crime with it?  Why, they would have to have a list with my name on it! Isn’t that convenient?

3. Now lets say the technology were to exist and the registry now exists.  What Happens if I want to sell my gun to a buddy of mine  what then?  How would big brother be able to match the microstamping mark to the correct criminal?  Well I guess we would have to go to  gun dealer and got through a NICS check sothe new owner can be registered.  Say, as long as we do that for Microstamped guns, might as well do that for all of them huh? Wait, wouldn’t that get rid of that  “Gun show loophole”?  well what do you know about that?  This of course ignores the fact that Canada just spent a few BILLION on a gun registry only to find out that it doesn’t work and they are now scraping it.  Upon hearing of the failure of the gun registry, California has decided it wants to start a gun registry.

4.  Since new guns can only be legally sold through gun dealers and criminals cannot buy their guns legally, no one has mentioned how the micro stamped guns are going to get into the hands of criminals so they can commit these solvable crimes.  I am especially interested in how they are going to get criminals to register the microstamps?   The Supreme Court ruled in 1968 that criminals cannot be punished for failing to register their guns as it violates their 5thAmendment rights.

5.  If my microstamped gun is stolen and then used in a crime, the microstamp will tell police who USED TO own the gun, not who committed the crime.  I’m not a detective, but that does not strike me as a terribly useful piece of information

At this point does anyone but me see that the crime solving ability of this technology hinges solely on lawful gun owners suddenly turning to a life of crime?  I do see that it has spent a lot of money without solving any crimes yet.

So how easy would this be to defeat? TOO EASY

1. Use a revolver.  Revolvers don’t eave brass behind so stamping them would be pointless

2. Pick up your spent brass, better yet drop some casing picked up at a gun range as red herrings.

3.  Put a bag over your hand to catch the spent brass.  A 1 gallon zip lock and a  zip tie just like in the movie Mr Brooks should do the trick

4.  File Down the firing pin.  A monkey could do it.

5. Use a stolen gun

6. Change out the firing pin.  The thing is the size of a one inch nail used to set floor edge trim, can you imagine how easy it would be to smuggle those around?

There you go…. five reasons why microstamping won’t work and six ways to defeat it for little or no cost. Any politician who is supporting this idea is deliberately  wasting time and money.

The VPC funded a study…   hold on a second, lets start there.  If I were to pay shitloads of money to some group to conduct a study to find out if I was the sexiest man alive, what is the bet that they could find away that they could confirm to me that I am in fact the sexiest man alive?  So double or nothing,  if I  take this study to Angelina Jolie ‘s dressing room and show it to her, it will that cause her dress to fall to the floor, exposing her luscious…..wait where was I going with this?  oh yeah…just because I paid for a study to say it, it does not make it so.   Considering I look more like Larry the Cable Guy than Brad Pitt., I’m guessing study or no Angelina will not be impressed.  Back  to the Very Partial To Crack folks….

The VPC Claims that Gun ownership in America is at an all time low, less Women own guns now than in 1982, and basically having a gun in the home is a fad whose time has past and it should now take its rightful place in the back of the closet with Pet Rocks, Pop rocks, Chinese Jack and Furbys.

Mean while, at the FBI, NICS background checks, which is a decent indication of traffic at gun retailers has risen from 9,138,123 in 1999 to 14,409,616 in 2010.  Based on averages for 2011 up through may 31, we should be at 16,389,074 by Dec 31, 2011.

FBI says LEGAL gun purchases are at an all time high,  VPC says gun ownership at all time low.  How is this possible????

f you look at the VPC data, it was collected by calling random people and asking them if they own a gun.  Sweethearts, if some random survey called my house and asked me if I owned a gun, I would tell them HELL NO!  Apparently, gun owners don’t trust the motive of strangers calling their house to ask about their firearms.

Lets all conduct a VPC Style “study” !

1. Call random people from your local phone book and tell them you are conducting a survey to find out on average how much cash people keep in the house.  Want to bet they wont want to tell you if they do?

2. How about this, get a list of Orthodox Jews and call them up to ask them how often they eat ham?  Ham consumption in the U.S. must be at all time low you would surmise from the data.

3. look at the raw data for number of police officers per-capita and violent crime rates for Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  Since there are 100 more police officers per 100,000 population  in Ma, and three times the per capita violent crime rate in Ma, we should publish an article in the  Huffington Post that having more police officers on the street leads to more violent crime.

The VPC uses biased studies, junk science  and outright lies to draw bizarre conclusions  for the sole purpose furthering the gun ban agenda.  Whats worse is they think the average American is stupid enough to believe them.  Here are my sources for the VPC and NICS information, don’t take my word for it, draw your own conclusions!

In February,  head Brady Boob Paul Helmke addressed the national Women’s Democratic club and was talking about “compromise and consensus” about guns and generously, he thinks that we can “meet in the middle”

Meet in the middle?  MEET IN THE MIDDLE?????   ARE YOU FRACKING SERIOUS?????

The Brady Bunch LOST THE WAR!!! and now they think they should be given half a victory anyway?  Just how many Sheen Rocks is this fruit loop on anyway?

First they got trounced in Heller  but, that didn’t count in their world because that only applied to the gun ban in the federal district, not the states

This set the Stage for their beating in McDonald in which millions of dollars had to be spent to the tell Brady’s “yes, the Constitution applies to the states too”

Had both decisions gone in their favor would they be willing to meet gun owners in the middle?  OH HELL NO!  It would have been “Mr and Mrs America turn them all in!”

This is what would have  happened to Millions if not Billions of dollars in personal property had the Brady’s gotten their way…..what about these images suggest “compromise” to you?

So in the ultimate case of denial,  Helmke will now try to portray the victors as horrible people unwilling to “compromise” to his way of thinking.  I wonder what other constitutional rights he thinks we should “compromise”?  How about we compromise the First Amendment?  Only “legimate” journalists shall have freedom of speach but we can shut down the blogosphere?  How about we compromise an only allow “main stream” religons to operate?   Perhaps we can compromise unreasonable search and seizure?   The  U.S.  Constitution is Non-negotiable and it is NOT to be “compromised”

Repeat after me Helmke you fracking ASSCLOWN  “NO AMERICAN ‘COMPROMISES’ CONSITUTIONAL RIGHTS, NOW OR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Nationally reciprocated no permit required concealed carry.   My life is as valuable in MA or NY. as it is in NH. I should be able to protect myself there without having to pay fees and go through hassles everywhere I go.

Nationally recognized Castle doctrine. Every law-abiding citizen should have the right to protect their life and property, or the lives of others everywhere they have a legal right to be.  That this is even a question is a problem.

Remove suppressors from the restricted list.  This is just plain stupid!  “Silencers” are supposedly only good for murders so that you can’t own one….UNLESS you send the Government $200 for a tax stamp! as long as you have  a FFL and a bunch of money well then I guess it’s ok…..  The number one reason people give for wanting ranges closed is noise!  here is a simple and inexpensive (if government interference be removed!) accessory that will reduce noise, protect the hearing of shooters.  Besides, poke around you tube…making a homade supressor is easy for people who want to kill others, so what is the point in restricting it?  Not a single life has been saved.

National destruction of ALL registration records.  There is no benign reason for a gun registry and once we get to national no-permit required concealed carry, local registries will be useless anyway.

Legal presumption of self-defence.  If a citizen if forced to use deadly force to defend their life, they should not have to be subject to immediate arrest and have criminal proceedings against them being  a given.  This would not prevent police for investigating if something does not look right, but If I shoot a guy in my living room at 3 am from out-of-town who is dressed in black and has a list of priors for burglary, there should be no reason to cuff me and drag me off to jail and put me through a trial.  

Elimination of the NICS system.   Ok, I realize this one will be a tough sell  but NICS has not stopped a single criminal from owning a gun and the Antis use NICS as a hammer to smash  my ability to sell a freind a rifle or give my gun to my kids when I pass.  Since there wont be any registration records, there will be no way to track them anyway so trying to force me put my son through a NICS check at an FFL to record the serial of the weapon is pointless.  This will also make transactions easier for retailers and can expand their business beyond state lines.  I might be in favor of some kind of OPTIONAL national FID card that means “ok to sell to” that has to be presented to a dealer before a purchase, but it would have to be free or VERY cheap, hassle free, and big brother-proof.

We are closer evey day, and I hope we can keep the momentum going unil these “reaosnable” lack of restrictions are passed!

The ATF has failed to produce any of the subpoenaed paperwork asked for by Congress as part of the ongoing investigation into Project Gunrunner  and Operation Fast and Furious.   To sum these ops up, since the Obama administration decided that drug cartel violence is the fault of American Gun dealers, and that there must be a flow of guns into Mexico,  The ATF is  helping see to it that guns are smuggled into Mexico so they can prove that the guns are indeed being smuggled into Mexico, so that they can then stop the flow by forcing American Gun dealers to keep lists of anyone who buys more than one gun at a time.   In case you did not follow that, the ATF had to help create the problem they are supposed to solve.   In theory, they were tracking the whereabouts of these guns  so that they could apprehend the king pins and have a large bust that looks great on 20/20, or other news programs.  There were two problems; first was that the Gun dealers were calling the ATF and telling that there were shady people trying to buy guns and would they please come out and do something and were basically told “oh no, sell them LOTS of guns, don’t worry we are keeping an eye on them”.  My understanding is that the dealers were happy to help, but wanted som kind of documentation to CYA…I dont know if they got it or not.   The second problem was that some of these guns that they were “watching” turned up on the murder scene of a border patrol agent…..whoops!  Some ATF agents started blowing the whistle on what was going on and now the rush is on to cover this up in every way possible. 

These are the assholes who can no-knock my house in the middle of the night for any reason they so choose and not share any of those reasons with me.  These guys are the closest thing to a Geheime Staatspolizei as our country has.   For years they have pushed around law-abiding businesses  over  stupid minor paperwork issues and other minutiae .  They have far too much power and apparently do not believe that THEY have to follow any particular laws themselves. including a direct order from congress! 

SHould we have some kind of federal firearms enforcement?  Of course, but they need to be individually accountable for their actions. if serving a warrent on a person without a record, start by knocking on the door, during the day, show creds, and be preprared to let the person read warrent, find out who signed it and who gave them the information.  oh, and they should DO WHAT CONGRESS TELLS THEM TOO!
